This Months Marble: Rosso Laguna Marble

A little late, but here's our first marble of the month from Bella Pietra.

Today we're going to take a look at Rosso Laguna marble, also known as Red Laguna marble. This stunning stone is characterized by its bold red color and intricate veining, making it a popular choice for use in flooring, countertops, and other decorative features. In this blog post, we will take a closer look at Rosso Laguna marble, its unique properties, and some of its popular uses.

Rosso Laguna marble is a type of natural stone that is quarried in Italy, specifically in the region of Verona. It is formed from limestone that has been subjected to intense heat and pressure, resulting in a metamorphic rock that is composed of interlocking crystals of calcite or dolomite. The distinctive red colour of Rosso Laguna marble is caused by the presence of iron oxide in the stone, while the white veins and speckles are due to the presence of calcite.

One of the most striking features of Rosso Laguna marble is its unique pattern of white veins that crisscross the deep red background. This distinctive veining makes each piece of Rosso Laguna marble truly unique, as no two stones are exactly alike. In addition, the stone has a high degree of natural variation in terms of its colour and veining, which adds to its overall aesthetic appeal.

Rosso Laguna marble is a popular choice for a variety of applications due to its unique color and veining. One of its most common uses is in flooring, where it can create a bold and dramatic statement in entryways, foyers, and other high-traffic areas. It is also commonly used for countertops, both in residential and commercial settings, due to its durability and resistance to scratching and staining.

In addition, Rosso Laguna marble is a popular choice for decorative features such as fireplace surrounds, wall panels, and accent pieces. Its rich, deep colour and intricate veining make it a striking choice for any interior design project.

Maintenance & Care

As with all natural stone, proper maintenance and care are essential to keep Rosso Laguna marble looking its best. It is important to clean up any spills or stains immediately, as the stone is susceptible to etching and staining from acidic substances such as lemon juice or vinegar. Regular sealing is also recommended to help protect the stone from moisture and other potential sources of damage.

Rosso Laguna marble is a beautiful and unique natural stone that is prized for its rich, deep red color and intricate veining. Its unique pattern and natural variation make it a popular choice for a wide range of applications, from flooring and countertops to decorative features. With proper care and maintenance, Rosso Laguna marble can provide a lifetime of beauty and durability.
